Research Topics

Quantum mechanics is indispensable for Solid State Physics. That's now common knowledge. Then, why do we use the word "Quantum Solid State Physics"? The reason is to distinguish the physics and research for quantum effects and meny-body effects in the spatial scale of Metascale, which is apart from atomic scale, from other solid state physics which use quantum mechanics to elucidate the properties of materials.

Our researches are on Metascale materials. The actual sizes indicated by Metascale depend on the phenomenon and the materials and so on: from Nanoscale, used as the name of our division to several μm, or nanoscale for one dimension but macroscale for the other dimension.

Anyway, we will introduce our research for the quantum solic state physics, which has quite interesting and profound nature. Our research is only a small part of the nature, but attracts your mind. We will introduce you the research briefly in the follows. The articles are written by the staffs and students working on the research. We're sorry but all the articles are in Japanese only.

Facilities

We introduce a part of the facilities in our laboratory. These are open to domestic researchers, who are encouraged to submit joint research proposals.

Our researches are realized by these many facilities. We appreciate these machines, financial supporters, and researchers, engineers and manufacturers.

We cannot neglect the students and staffs, and their efforts. We also manufacture the facilities by ourselves, discuss with the companies for selection or fabrication, and maintain and improve the facilities. We also appreciate them for their efforts.

Here, we introduce you a part of the facilities classified into four. We're sorry but all the articles are in Japanese only.

  1. Thin film deposition and epitaxy
  2. Lithography and processing
  3. Low temperature and high magnetic field
  4. Measurement
